We never use standard templates to create your site. Every project is lovingly designed to meet the needs of your business. We can create a design that integrates your existing branding or provide a complete design service from logo to finished site.
HTML / CSS
We will hand build your site using modern, standards based, semantic XHTML and CSS. This might sound a bit boring but it’s really important stuff. When done correctly it means that your site will be accessible to as many users as possible, including all the major search engines.
CMS (Content Management System)
We want you to be in control of the content of your site. This is why we use ExpressionEngine CMS. It’s an extremely powerful, reliable, well supported and easy to use system. We can tailor it to give you a simple news update page or enable fine control over every aspect of your site, the choice is really up to you. It’s what we use to power our own site, we wouldn’t recommend it if we didn’t believe in it.
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
We don’t claim to be an SEO specialist but we do know what the principles of good search engine optimisation are and we build all our sites accordingly. We can give you sound advice on how to improve your online visibility and point you to some very helpful articles from industry experts. There is no one size fits all answer for improving your page rank, it is an ongoing process which requires a clear strategy and sustained work. That’s why we won’t claim to guarantee you a first page listing on Google. We know many companies do, but we believe that if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
E-commerce
If you want to sell directly on the web there are many different systems available. We will conduct a full investigation of the needs of your business, choose the appropriate solution, integrate it with your CMS and fully train you in it’s operation.
Mailings
We have an extremely easy to use mailing system which allows you to send beatifully designed, personalised emails and newsletters to your customers. We’ll create some templates to match the style of your site, put a sign up form on your site and then put you in control. You can manage your lists, create and edit mailings and get detailed statistical feedback on all aspects of your campaign.
Photography
We provide a full photography service from small studio product shots to location photography. This could be as part of a larger website project or as a separate commission.
Illustration and Retouch
We love illustration and have produced varied work for many clients over the years. We also offer a full retouching service and have a wealth of experience in this area. If you think your web project requires some kind of illustration or retouch we can easily integrate this into the cost of the project. We are also happy to take on other commissions and would love to talk if you have a project in mind.
How does the process work
If you have a question or just want to say hi, fill out the contact form or give us a call. We’re always happy to put down the mouse for a chat.
If you would like a quote then you need to download our project form. From this information we can draw a really clear picture of what you want to achieve and what will be involved in the project. We may come back with a few questions and hopefully we can meet up or talk the project through on the phone. If we are a both happy at this stage we will provide a quote and project scope document. On approval of this we can sign an agreement and schedule in the work.
